Recall Dunleavy UPDATE
The framers of Alaska’s Constitution were clear -- when we have a governor who violates the Constitution, people have a recourse: the right to recall. Many Alaskans anxiously await their opportunity to sign Recall Dunleavy’s petition during the second phase of the historic bipartisan movement to remove Governor Dunleavy from office.
This second signature gathering phase, also known as the Petition Phase, will begin in 2020 as soon as it prevails in court and receives permission to move forward with gathering a minimum of 71,252 signatures from qualified, registered voters. After signatures have been collected from Alaskans across the state, Recall Dunleavy will then enter the final election phase. The timing of this election depends on when court approves the recall to move forward, and when Recall Dunleavy subsequently submits the requisite number of petition signatures. National economic experts have warned that if some of Dunleavy’s priorities come to fruition, Alaska’s credit will be downgraded. Alaska cannot afford such an extreme, irresponsible figure in charge of the state. Alaskans of all backgrounds and political affiliations have been united by a divisive governor. Together we understand that he is the wrong man for the job. Find the latest news by following Recall Dunleavy on Facebook, or by visiting www.recalldunleavy.org. Signature locations will be posted as soon as the movement has approval to move forward. Until that day, Recall Dunleavy encourages all supporters to continue talking to neighbors, families, and friends about the importance of removing this Governor from office so we can get our state back on track. |
