Dear paisanos,

First of all, we take this opportunity to thank all the essential workers in Alaska. It is important to recognize all the dedication with which doctors, nurses and others work every day.

In these difficult times, it is important to closely follow the recommendations that local and federal authorities have made to reduce the possibility of COVID-19 infection. Now is not the time to meet with neighbors, friends or relatives who do not live in the same household as you do. If you are not an essential worker, you should NOT leave your house if it is not for an essential activity such as going to the supermarket or to the doctor. As a community we must understand the seriousness of the situation and take care of our loved ones. Likewise, it is important to continue with constant hand washing, and not touching our face to avoid getting infected with the virus. Social distancing is what helps prevent more people from catching this disease and it is what will help to reduce the number of people affected, don’t think it twice, do not go out if it is not necessary.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, since mid-March at the Consulate of Mexico in Seattle, we closed services to the general public and canceled all consulates on wheels until June. It is important to mention that, although the Consulate is physically closed, we continue to work with the objective of informing and protecting the Mexican community in the states of Alaska, Washington and Northwest Idaho.

In order to attend Mexicans who unfortunately have been infected with this new coronavirus, and also to advise relatives of those who unfortunately died from the same disease, the Consulate has an emergency line to assist them if necessary. For assistance please call 206.618.8202.
At this number, if the family requires it, they can give them information about the process and possible aid for the repatriation of the remains to Mexico.

The Consulate continues to attend and respond through our Facebook page to all the questions and doubts our paisanos have during this pandemic. Find us on Facebook as Consulado de México in Seattle. Stay informed.

Remember,
Stay home
stay safe
