A Latido Climatico (Climate Heartbeat) to Unite Latinos in the United States

From Pompano Beach, Florida, the Climate Heartbeat rises to rally the Latino community across the United States in environmental defense. Eighty-three percent of Latinos in this country are concerned about global warming.
This October, the Latino organizations Climate Power En Acción, GreenLatinos, and Sachamama launched Latido Climatico (Climate Heartbeat), a new educational campaign targeting the Latino community in the United States. The campaign aims to counter climate misinformation, amplify local voices, and generate momentum for urgent and equitable environmental action.
Starting now and continuing throughout the year, Latido Climático will combine a digital strategy with specific local events, including New York Climate Week, the 2025 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP25), and Earth Week 2026.
“Since January 2025, more than 30 environmental protections have been reversed, putting Latino communities at risk as extreme weather events become more frequent and deadly,” say the promoters. “Climate misinformation is spreading unchecked, eroding trust in climate science.” To counter this, Latido Climático wants to reach two million Latinos in the United States and mobilize them.
“Public opinion is key to engaging Latinos in the fight for climate justice,” says Antonieta Cádiz, executive director of Climate Power En Acción. “Through Latido Climático, we are committed to the health and well-being of our families.” “Latino communities know the cost of inaction: we breathe pollution, we endure floods and heat... But we have the solutions to demand the equitable climate action that our families and future generations deserve,” says Mark Magaña, founder and director of GreenLatinos.
“We must come together to drive urgent climate action,” says Carlos Zegarra, director of Sachamama. “Latido Climático elevates our voices, stories, and leadership, demonstrating how our communities are at the core of the solutions.”
