Lizbeth Correa: A Talented Teenager
Lizbeth Yireidi Correa Adon is a talented young girl who, at just 12 years old, participated in the Soup Off 2026 event last February. Born in Fairbanks, Lizbeth is a member of the Ryan Middle School Culinary Club; she was selected—alongside other students—for her outstanding performance to present an Indonesian-style chicken and rice noodle soup, as well as two cake options: a strawberry cake and a Black Forest cake. She prepared the latter in collaboration with her teacher, Conny Swisher.
The culinary event brought together 20 restaurants from Fairbanks, and the proceeds went to support Bread Line’s anti-hunger programs. A delightful surprise came when the soup presented by the Ryan Middle School Culinary Club took second place. “I inherited my love for cooking from my dad, John, and my mom, Jefreysi. My father is creative; he comes up with new dishes and is never lazy,” said Lizbeth. Thanks to her successful participation in the culinary club, Lizbeth will attend a leadership course in West Virginia this summer, sponsored by Ryan Middle School. Her father, John Correa, is of Colombian descent, while her mother, Jefreysi Adon, hails from the Dominican Republic. Lizbeth is a multifaceted young girl. She practices Taekwondo at the Midnight Sun Martial Arts Academy. A yellow belt, she won first and second-place trophies in both sparring and forms at the Top of the World TKD Championship last February. Lizbeth is currently learning Korean via YouTube. “I’m a big fan of the band Stray Kids. I’d love to visit Korea someday.” “My biggest dream is to become a singer. I’ve been singing since I was two years old, and I’m a high soprano. I enjoy performing songs in Spanish, as well as songs by my favorite band, Stray Kids. I want to be able to help my family in the future.” |
