New USCIS Address in Anchorage
On July 25, the new U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office in Anchorage was inaugurated. The opening coincided with the naturalization ceremony of ten individuals at the James M. Fitzgerald Courthouse and Federal Building and the swearing in of Bear Dolbeare as the new director of this field office. In March 2024, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced the relocation of its offices to a new address in Anchorage. This new location provides an improved experience for both employees and customers, with more efficient use of space.
The office spans a single floor and allows for a more streamlined experience for all who visit, while this single-floor layout allows flexibility for growth and to meet future office space and workload needs. The functions of the USCIS office have not changed. The workload in this office is primarily naturalization and adjustment of status (green card) adjudications and interviews, as well as naturalization ceremonies. The office also handles appointments for cases requiring in-person assistance. Members of the public needing emergency immigration services should go online, request an appointment at https://my.uscis.gov/en/appointment/v2 or come to the USCIS Center by contacting 1-800-375-5283 for assistance or https://www.uscis.gov/contactcenter on the Internet. USCIS field offices do not allow walk-in visits. USCIS leadership and community relations specialists build and maintain collaborative relationships with local stakeholders, such as advocacy groups, in many ways, including regular meetings; special sessions with specific agendas; educational presentations; and e-mailed communication materials.
