Latin America is the new epicenter of the pandemiC
The World Health Organization has revealed great concern for Latin America, as it has become the new epicenter of the coronavirus, with most countries being far from reaching their peak on infections.
The most affected area within the region is South America, with Brazil as the country with the most cases and Chile and Peru having the most outbreaks. The high number of infections paints a terrible forecast on the public health landscape for these countries and the region at large. The highest peaks of the pandemic are expected to be reached in June and July, coinciding with the southern winter, in the case of South America, which would mean a much greater risk, since COVID-19 will add to the classic respiratory diseases typical of the season. |
