 A virus without social class

Picture

May 7, 2020

COVID-19 has infected the American population alike without distinction of social positions or privileges, leaving the entire population vulnerable. Dr. Richard Besser, former Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said:  "Viruses do not respect borders and viruses do not respect walls. " However, he emphasized that the less privileged population is more exposed, which was demonstrated by seeing the different rate at which the virus spread in different areas of the country, but urged that everyone is exposed and should not let their guard down.

One of the biggest concerns of the less-favored population, undocumented ones, is going to the doctor, because, although medical help is necessary, possible deportation is something that makes them think twice about seeking medical care, which in turn brings complications for the American population in general, since the virus then continues to spread.
