Anchorage School District Student Nutrition Department to Consolidate Summer Meal Distribution Sites

The ASD Student Nutrition Department will consolidate and reduce the number of meal distribution site locations starting June 29, through July 17. The consolidation is necessary to prepare for the coming school year and a number of factors affecting service.
 
Factors bearing on the meal distribution site reduction include reduced staff availability, anticipated equipment maintenance at Central Kitchen and multiple school sites, inventory reset and recovery, and new software training in July and August.
 
The reduced site schedule will run June 29 to July 17. Friday, July 3 is a Districtwide holiday. Friday and Saturday meals will be served Thursday, July 2.
 
The following school feeding sites will be closed after June 26:

· Chester Valley Elementary School
· Creekside Park Elementary School
· Fairview Elementary School
· Government Hill Elementary School
· Lake Hood Elementary School
· Mountain View Elementary School
· Nunaka Valley Elementary School
· Russian Jack Elementary School
· Spring Hill Elementary School
 
The following school sites will continue meal distribution service from June 29 through July 17:

o   Central Middle School
o   Chinook Elementary School
o   Fire Lake Elementary School
o   Klatt Elementary School
o   Lake Otis Elementary School
o   Muldoon Elementary School
o   Northwood Elementary
o   Ptarmigan Elementary School
o   Taku Elementary School
o   Williwaw Elementary School
o   Willow Crest Elementary School
