Arciniega Street Productions, a new multi-faceted Latinx, queer, and woman-owned production company in Alaska that specializes in storytelling, culture-bearing and community-building entertainment, creative development, and artistic collaboration is proudly in partnership with Cafecito Bonito and local drag artists to put on this new monthly community event for all-ages: Drag Lotería @ Cafecito Bonito. This event, which happens every last Friday of the month, focuses on sharing culture, building community, supporting local artists and small businesses, and having fun.

The first show featured an all-Latinx lineup of drag performers, including Glenn Coco, Dela Rosa, and Frankie Doom. It also included all Latin music all night, with drag performances of songs by Selena y Los Dinos, Thalia, Gloria Trevi, and La India. According to the event organizers “the idea came from Kendra from Arciniega Street Productions. She wanted more all ages BIPOC (Black, indigenous and people of color) community events where we get to share our culture, build community, and have events showcasing BIPOC artists whether it be through music, theater production, drag, etc. We first saw a need that our community needed like public events and it kind of branched out from there. We look forward to continuing to host events around our Latinx, Black and indigenous artists.”

There are many opportunities to win prizes all night, with a long list of prizes from local businesses - many of which are BIPOC-owned, LGBTQ-owned, or woman-owned businesses. The previous event was filled up quickly, so guests are encouraged to arrive early.
