Gratitude in 2023
As we begin the new year 2023, many people will take the time to sit down to create new goals, plans and projects. It’s a great way to initiate the momentum and begin our journey for this year. One of the things that I believe is necessary to have in our journey this year is gratitude. But what is gratitude? Gratitude is a virtue, a desire deep in our soul, that allows us to never forget the benefits received from the Creator and from our neighbors. It motivates us to demonstrate that we are thankful for the favors that we received from others.
First, we must be grateful for life. The gift of life is precious and is something to be thankful for every morning that we are allowed to wake up. Life is a gift that has been given to us because no one, not a single soul, has their life guaranteed for tomorrow. There are many who didn’t make it to this year, therefore, we should always take a moment to be thankful for life.
Secondly, we must be thankful for the important people or things in our life. Each person individually must do this self-reflection in order to then move to be grateful. After this reflection, some may mention their faith, others may say family, friends, career, or other. Once we come up with our list, then we can move to demonstrate our gratitude.
Therefore, my invitation for all is to begin this year with gratitude. Let us be grateful for the opportunities that we have every morning. Let us be thankful for the people who surround us day by day. Let us appreciate the moments that we have to do the things that we love to do. With that said, I would like to take this moment to say: Thank YOU for taking the moment to read this piece. I’m grateful for this new opportunity.
