Francisco Ramirez Morales is a young painter whose art stands out throughout the creation of murals for different businesses in the city.
Originally from Oaxaca, in the municipality of Putla Villa de Guerrero, 28-year-old Francisco was attracted by the charm of Anchorage and the support of his brother, who lives in this city.
As a child he liked to paint and do physical activity. Although he has a degree in Physical Education and Sports, awarded by the Autonomous University of Baja California, destiny has wanted his art to flourish and expand in Alaska.
He is self-taught and defines his art as surrealist. “I express feelings, emotions, beliefs, and life experiences through my paintings. I use creativity and imagination to give a message. I draw on the culture of bright colors, Mexican style,” he said.
At first, he did graffiti, but when his work was recognized in Baja California, he opted for murals. His art is seen in different coffee houses and restaurants in Anchorage. At Cafecito Bonito, he holds painting classes and customers draw elements from La Lotería, a traditional Mexican table game.
“I am very grateful to Alaska for opening the doors to me and because my dream is becoming true little by little. I would like to be recognized for my art, for the effort I put into each piece.”
