Chris Tolley, head of APD, will retire on June 30
Justin Doll, with 20 years of service at APD, will be in charge​

On April 24, Ethan Berkowitz, Mayor of Anchorage, announced that Chris Tolley, current head of the APD, will retire on June 30. 

Captain Justin Doll will take over as the head of the APD. Doll joined the APD in 1996. Since then, he has held a large number of positions ranging from Patrol Officer, Traffic Unit Supervisor, to SWAT Team Member, Bomb Technician, and Commander of the Homicide and Robbery / Assault Detective Units.
